Twenty-two paintings of Russian painter Chaim Soutine (1893-1943) exhibited by the Musée de l'Orangerie. from the art dealer Paul Guillaume;s passion for these portraits "where the extent and dementia struggles and balances".
They are the nucleus of a retrospective, organized in the fall of 2012, celebrating the power and passion of expressionist palette unique in Paris between the wars. The influence that the work of Soutine had on artists of the late twentieth century is obvious when going through this exhibition of an artist still misunderstood in France.
